Hofstra University Museum of Art Presents “Hidden in Sight: Photographing Incarceration”

The exhibition is open to the public. The United States has the highest rate of incarceration of any country in the world, with more than 2 million people currently imprisoned. This exhibition features photographs spanning more than 50 years by three artists: Danny Lyon (American, born 1942), Jessica Earnshaw (Canadian, born 1983), and Isadora Kosofsky (American, born 1993). It highlights varied critical issues within the prison system in America. Funding has been provided by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
